Last blog post of the week, I apologize for all the fans. So far I haven't touched any of the footage. I haven't started editing or color correcting or anything. Just because I am editing the film doesn't mean this isn't  group project anymore. With that being said, I want to discuss with my group about editing and how to go about the editing process. I would hate to do it alone, I enjoy other people's input. I also learned that I should be showing what we have so far to a third party person. Maybe someone else doesn't see what my group sees and can offer some insight on how to approach the film. I am going to continue to keep going at this project with an open mind.

Hello. Last blog post i mentioned looking over the footage. well, I did. What we filmed met my expectations but the lighting is pretty bad. i don't want to have to re-shoot anything so I am going to try and color correct the scene to see if it'll help. Some colors need correcting and it needs a little bit better lighting also. Here's an example of what I am trying to achieve. I am aiming to make the scene brighter as shown above.
Welcome to week five of the blog posts. As mentioned last week, we needed to film a couple of more shots. We want to get together during spring break but we we are all very busy and i will be gone for a little bit too. Spring break was nice to sit back and relax but we are all ready to get back into the project. Towards the end of the break we ended up filming one day and it was alright. I eager to look at the footage but I am skeptical as to how it came out. I will update on Wednesday and review the footage.
Hey, welcome back to the last post of the week. These past two days I have been doing my research on editing techniques that maybe I wasn't aware of before. As mentioned before, I'm pretty proficient in editing but I want to further that because I will be the one editing a majority of the film. I found a couple of sources. This link to videomaker  talked about the basics of editing and "hypnotizing" an audience, which is what I hope to achieve. This article informed me about what effects I could use in certain situations and gave me the idea to get my editing critiqued by other people. Although i won't be editing the video for a little bit, I am now more knowledgeable about editing and how to go about doing it.
In this blog posting I want to discuss and put my thoughts that I have in this blog post. I want to do more research involving editing. Editing is a big part of the opening scene and I have to make sure it's perfect. I consider myself to be pretty decent when it comes to editing. I am aware of how to edit of course but I am curious to see if there are different techniques used specifically for opening scenes. Maybe the way I cut a clip will determine the speed of the whole opening. I have lost of questions like; is it okay to have a fast paced opening scene? Questions will be answered in next week post. Stay tuned!
Good morning and welcome back to week four. In all honesty, I don't have anything to really post about. I feel as if I'm at a road block. Nothing new is happening and I don't have anything interesting the same. I've done my research and talked with my group. Only thing that's changed is that we want to re film some shots and scenes but its not that major. There's problems with audio and video in some shots. I want to begin editing and putting the whole thing together eventually but we are still not finished filming the whole thing. We are following the script relatively well too.
Oh no, worst part of your week, my last blog post for the week. This week was really crucial to the group and to me. We got a lot of thinking done and a lot of ideas. We are all getting along really well and I'm happy with the progress that we are doing. My group's movie opening will hopefully come out as planned and so far everything is looking good. A big part of this week is the importance of target audiences and how much it effects a film.

Welcome back to the lovely blogs of Tristan. These past days I've continued my research on target audiences. I found this great slideshow online and it taught me a lot about the importance of having a specific target audience and how it is crucial to cater to that target audience. I will use this information in my project by making sure we stay on the right track. If we stray away from what our initial audience was, then the project wouldn't make any sense to a specific audience. This was actually very interesting for me to read because I love film and I now notice how important a specific audience is. I love making short films and documentaries so this will actually come in hand when creating more personal projects. Here's a picture of one of the slides:
Hello and welcome to a new week of blog posts, I'm sure you're happy to be back! This week we are mainly attempting focus on target audience. I've been doing a lot of research online. I'll add some links to websites at the end. Basically our target audience will be young adults. No excessive use of drugs or alcohol will be shown in the opening at all which is a decision that we all agreed on. Not a lot of movies in this audience area have those types of behavior. Our opening will stick to a certain script and be able for mostly anyone to view. Here are some sites I got my research from: How to find your target audience Film audience development
Welcome back to my blog posts. I am sorry to say that this is my last blog post for the week which I know anyone reading this will be sad about. To end this week, I would like to add that I am proud of the progress this week. Only issue I have is that we are having trouble figuring out our target audience. I am leaving towards a more young adult audience. I want the opening to kind of resemble the effect of the movie  whiplash . I will keep doing research onto next week.
Update: things are going really well. We have started filming and getting things started. There is plenty of complications that need to be figured out. We are still thinking about what shots should be included or not included at all. We all have great ideas and I'm excited to keep going. Alejandro has issues with being on camera but that is getting resolved over time. A lot of the project is spent saying ideas and bouncing things off each other. I discovered that a big part of the project is talking, not filming. Filming comes after everything, regardless it is still important.
Good morning, and welcome back to week two of my blog posts! I am excited to start this week because a lot of decision making is going to be taking place. Over the weekend my group has decided to do our project of the third rendition of the script. To be quite frank with you, I haven't read the script but it was explained to me in detail and I am on board. Even if I didn't like it, everyone else does so majority rules. Regardless, we have come to an ultimate decision and I am excited to do my research and show you the information I find.
Hey, welcome back! I know you can't wait to see what's up with my project thus far so let me tell you. This is my last posting for the week and I couldn't be happier with the results of this week. There has been some difficulty but that has been overcame and I am ready to keep going. So far my group has been working together and bouncing ideas off of each other. To be honest, it's hard to give ideas in class because it's so early and our brains don't really wake up at the time. Although, when it comes down to it, we do get our work sorted out and the ideas are spoken over text or during lunch. The ideas are great but I am afraid there are too many of them. Next week I will be making a goal to choose an idea and to execute and research accordingly.
